About Dr Susan Ellis
Susan is a compassionate Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working in private practice and hospital settings. She has a special interest in working with people who are experiencing psychological difficulties in the context of long-term medical conditions.
Susan uses a gentle therapeutic approach to create a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive environment enabling you to openly discuss your concerns. She works with you as an individual to help you gain an understanding of your current difficulties and how these impact on your life. She works collaboratively with you to identify helpful ways to manage these difficulties and improve the quality of your life.
Susan uses a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy, tailored to your individual needs and goals. She is committed to providing high quality psychological care and maintains her expertise and professionalism through ongoing clinical and peer supervision, and continuing professional development.

Susan has extensive experience in assisting people to cope with a wide range of emotional and personal challenges, such as stress, anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, coping with physical health issues, pain management, grief and loss, life transition, adjustment difficulties, assertiveness training, and goal setting. Susan is experienced in using a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. All interventions are evidence-based and tailored to support your individual needs. Susan’s approach to counselling is gentle, non-judgmental, compassionate, curious, gently challenging and attuned to what is happening for you in the present moment.
GROUP THERAPY
Coming Together
Group programs may offer an economical and effective method of intervention for a range of needs. Susan provides group-based programs in a variety of areas including mindfulness, stress management, sleep improvement, and chronic disease management. Program schedules vary, but generally run on a weekly basis for six weeks.
